These stainless steel hidden decking clips are designed for selected grooved composite decking boards where a rigid metal fixing system is required. Each pack includes 100 clips, suitable for compatible 23–26mm composite decking boards.
However, please note that stainless steel clips are not recommended for standard outdoor composite decking installations. For most external decking projects, Vigo Home recommends using 6mm plastic hidden fasteners instead.
Important Outdoor Installation Notice
Although stainless steel clips may appear stronger, they can create a tighter and more rigid gap between decking boards. In external environments, composite decking boards need suitable spacing to allow for natural expansion, contraction, drainage and ventilation.
When stainless steel clips are used outdoors, the board gap may become too restricted. This can increase the risk of board stress, movement issues, poor drainage and cracking, especially under changing UK weather conditions.
For outdoor decking installations, please use Vigo Home’s 6mm Plastic Hidden Fasteners. These are more suitable for external use because they help maintain a safer expansion gap between boards.
Warranty Notice
Vigo Home does not recommend stainless steel clips for standard outdoor decking installations.
If stainless steel clips are used for external decking where plastic hidden fasteners should have been used, Vigo Home will not offer warranty cover for board cracking, movement, expansion-related damage, poor drainage, or installation issues caused by unsuitable fixings.

Installation Guidance

For composite decking, boards should never be forced tightly together. Correct spacing is required to allow for expansion, contraction, drainage and ventilation.
For external decking, use Vigo Home’s 6mm Plastic Hidden Fasteners and follow the relevant installation guidance for your decking boards.
Fixing screws are not supplied. Suitable screws should be selected by the installer based on the subframe material and installation conditions.
