FAQs
Vigo Home – FAQs for Composite Decking, Fencing & Wall Cladding
1. What is composite decking and why choose Vigo Home’s UK boards?
Composite decking combines recycled wood fibres and high‑grade polymers to create a low‑maintenance board that resists rot, warping and splintering. Vigo Home stocks every profile in our Desborough, Corby warehouse, so you get factory‑direct pricing, full UK warranty cover and next‑day dispatch to Manchester, London, Southampton and everywhere in‑between.
2. Do your decking boards comply with UK slip‑resistance standards?
Yes. All Vigo Home decking profiles are independently tested and achieve a “low‑slip” rating in both wet and dry conditions—ideal for the British climate.
3. How far do you deliver—and is it really “in‑house”?
Our own trucks usually run a regular 80‑mile corridor from Desborough, covering Greater Manchester down to London and across to Southampton. Because we don’t rely on third‑party couriers, you get clear delivery slots, pallet‑to‑driveway service and zero damage claims. We also accept orders over 80 miles if the order value is larger than £1500.
4. Is composite fencing better than timber for UK gardens?
In short, yes. Vigo Home composite fence boards won’t absorb rain, swell or attract insects. They’re colour‑fast, require no painting and come with a 10-15‑year warranty depending on the products you chose - perfect for windy Manchester terraces or salt‑air coastal plots near Southampton.
5. Can I install Vigo Home wall cladding directly onto brick or blockwork?
Absolutely. Use treated timber or aluminium battens to create a ventilated cavity, then screw our 219 × 26 mm cladding boards through the hidden clip system. Full fixing guides follow NHBC best‑practice for UK homes.
6. Are your products fire‑rated?
All decking, fencing and cladding boards meet the UK fire standard when installed to our specification—suitable for most low‑rise domestic projects in England.
7. Do I need planning permission for a composite deck or fence?
For most houses in England you can build a deck up to 30 cm high and fences up to 2 m without formal consent. Always check local planning rules—especially in conservation areas such as parts of London or listed properties around the Midlands.
8. How sustainable are Vigo Home composites?
Our boards are mainly made with recycled content (WPC) and our UK warehousing slashes container mileage.
9. Can I order samples before I buy?
Yes—choose any colours and we’ll post sample packs anywhere within our delivery zone — perfect for confirming shades against existing brickwork, paving or garden furniture.
10. What guarantee do you give on decking, fencing and cladding?
Depending on the products you buy, we offer 10-15 years England wide warranty.
