Where to Buy Composite Decking in Northamptonshire: Local Stock, Prices & Collection

If you are looking for composite decking in Northamptonshire, buying from a local stock-holding supplier can make a significant difference to delivery time, product choice and the ability to see the boards before committing to a full garden project.

This local buying guide explains where to buy composite decking in Northamptonshire, what to compare before ordering, current pricing considerations, collection and delivery options, and how to choose the right boards for your garden.

Why Buy Composite Decking From a Local Northamptonshire Supplier?

Composite decking is different from buying a small parcel product online.

A full garden project may require dozens or even hundreds of 3m boards, along with joists, clips, screws, trims and finishing accessories.

Buying from a local stock-holding supplier can provide several practical advantages.

See the Decking Before You Buy

Colours displayed on a phone or computer screen can look different from the actual boards.

Visiting a local warehouse gives you the opportunity to compare:

  • grey and light grey decking;
  • black and charcoal finishes;
  • teak and natural timber-effect colours;
  • coffee and darker brown boards;
  • different woodgrain textures;
  • board thickness and weight;
  • round hollow and square hollow profiles;
  • capped and extruded surfaces.

This is particularly useful when the decking needs to match existing brickwork, fencing, cladding, paving or garden furniture.

Our guide to the best composite decking colours for UK homes can help narrow down your options before visiting.

Check Stock Before Starting the Project

One of the most frustrating problems during a decking installation is discovering that additional matching boards are unavailable halfway through the job.

Buying from a stock-holding supplier allows you to confirm availability before beginning the project.

If possible, calculate the complete requirement before ordering and allow appropriate additional material for cuts and wastage.

Collect Materials Yourself

Customers with suitable transport may prefer to collect directly from Desborough.

Collection can be useful for:

  • smaller projects;
  • replacement boards;
  • urgent materials;
  • trade customers already working locally;
  • customers who want to inspect their order before leaving.

Remember that many composite decking boards are approximately 3 metres long, so you need a suitable vehicle and the boards must be transported safely.

Composite Decking Delivery Across Northamptonshire

Not everyone has a van or suitable vehicle for transporting long decking boards, so delivery is often the easier option.

From our Desborough warehouse, Vigo Home supplies customers throughout Northamptonshire and neighbouring counties.

At the time of publication, qualifying promotional orders of £350 or more are eligible for free delivery within 60 miles of the Desborough warehouse, while qualifying national orders of £1,000 or more receive free delivery under the current offer.

Promotions and delivery terms can change, so always check the current website terms before ordering.

Composite Decking in Desborough

Desborough customers have the biggest local advantage because Vigo Home's stock-holding warehouse is based directly in the town.

If you are planning a deck locally, you can visit the warehouse to:

  • compare decking boards;
  • look at available colours;
  • check board dimensions;
  • compare hollow profiles;
  • buy fixings and trims;
  • discuss approximate material quantities;
  • arrange collection or delivery.

Composite Decking in Kettering

Kettering is one of the closest major towns to the Vigo Home warehouse, making local supply and collection straightforward.

For customers replacing timber decking or creating new outdoor seating areas, composite decking offers a low-maintenance alternative that does not normally require the regular staining or oiling associated with maintaining the appearance of timber boards.

Kettering homeowners can compare current products online or visit nearby Desborough to inspect the boards before ordering.

Composite Decking in Corby

Vigo Home also regularly supplies customers in and around Corby.

Modern housing developments and garden renovation projects often suit contemporary composite colours such as grey, light grey, black and teak.

For larger Corby projects, planning the complete materials list before delivery can help avoid additional trips or separate deliveries later.

Remember to include:

  • decking boards;
  • subframe materials;
  • starter clips;
  • hidden clips;
  • screws;
  • fascia or L-trims;
  • additional support for board joints.

Composite Decking in Wellingborough

Customers in Wellingborough are also within convenient reach of Vigo Home's Desborough stock.

Whether you are creating a small seating platform or a larger garden entertaining area, the most important first step is to calculate the deck accurately before choosing the board quantity.

For homeowners who would prefer professional help, Vigo Home also operates a growing independent installer network, including installers covering Northamptonshire.

Visit our Find an Installer page for more information.

Composite Decking in Northampton

Northampton customers can order composite decking directly from Vigo Home's Northamptonshire warehouse for delivery or arrange collection from Desborough.

For larger projects, comparing the complete project cost rather than simply the price of one decking board is important.

The total budget may include:

  • decking boards;
  • subframe;
  • clips and screws;
  • edging and fascia;
  • delivery;
  • ground preparation;
  • professional installation where required.

What Composite Decking Does Vigo Home Stock?

Vigo Home stocks WPC composite decking across several board constructions, colours and finishes.

Round Hollow Composite Decking

Round hollow boards offer a useful strength-to-weight balance and can be convenient for residential and DIY projects.

Square Hollow Composite Decking

Square hollow boards can provide a substantial and firm feel depending on the exact board specification.

If you are unsure which profile suits your project, read our square vs round hollow composite decking guide.

3D Woodgrain Composite Decking

Deep embossed surfaces create a stronger timber-effect texture for homeowners who want the appearance of traditional wood without the same decorative maintenance requirements.

Extruded and Capped Composite Decking

More advanced board surfaces can use an engineered outer layer to improve characteristics such as stain resistance, moisture protection and colour stability.

You can compare all current options in the Vigo Home composite decking collection.

How Much Does Composite Decking Cost in Northamptonshire?

The price of composite decking in Northamptonshire is not fundamentally different from the wider UK market, but buying locally can affect delivery and collection costs.

The board price depends on:

  • board width;
  • board thickness;
  • hollow or solid construction;
  • surface finish;
  • capped or uncapped construction;
  • colour;
  • promotional offers;
  • order quantity.

At the time of publication, selected 3m Vigo Home decking boards are available under promotional pricing from £13.50 per board, while other profiles sit at different price levels.

Because prices and promotions can change, check the current decking collection rather than relying on an old quoted board price.

For full UK price calculations per square metre, read our composite decking cost guide.

Can You Buy Composite Decking for DIY Projects?

Yes. Many Northamptonshire customers install straightforward low-level garden decks themselves.

Composite decking can be suitable for DIY installation if you are comfortable with:

  • accurate measuring;
  • using power tools;
  • building a square and level subframe;
  • following product-specific joist spacing;
  • allowing for expansion;
  • providing drainage and ventilation;
  • using the correct fixing system.

Read our DIY composite decking installation guide before deciding whether to take the work on yourself.

Can Vigo Home Help Find a Composite Decking Installer in Northamptonshire?

Yes. Vigo Home works with a growing network of independent builders, landscapers and installers covering different parts of the UK, including Northamptonshire.

Customers can send their postcode, project details and approximate measurements, and we can check whether an independent recommended installer operates in the area.

Any survey, quotation, workmanship agreement and installation warranty is arranged directly between the customer and the installer.

What Colour Composite Decking Works Best in Northamptonshire Gardens?

There is no specific decking colour that only works in Northamptonshire, but the architecture of the property can help guide the decision.

Red and Warm Brick Homes

Teak, coffee and medium brown decking can complement warmer brickwork, while grey provides a stronger contemporary contrast.

Modern New-Build Properties

Grey, light grey, charcoal and black work particularly well with anthracite doors, modern fencing and rendered extensions.

Small Gardens

Light grey, maple and other lighter tones can create a softer appearance in compact outdoor spaces.

Traditional Gardens

Teak, coffee, chocolate and weathered timber-effect colours often sit naturally alongside established planting and timber fencing.

See our composite decking colour guide for a more detailed comparison.

Composite Decking or Timber for a Northamptonshire Garden?

Both materials can work well.

Timber provides genuine natural grain and can offer a lower initial cost, particularly with basic pressure-treated softwood.

Composite decking is attractive to homeowners who want:

  • less ongoing decorative maintenance;
  • no traditional timber splinters;
  • consistent manufactured colours;
  • hidden fixing systems;
  • a wide selection of wood-effect finishes.

What Should You Check Before Ordering Composite Decking?

1. Measure the Deck Accurately

Calculate the finished length and width and consider how the boards will run.

2. Choose the Exact Board

Do not design the frame before checking the board dimensions and technical requirements.

3. Calculate the Subframe

The visible decking is only part of the project. Include joists, supports and additional blocking where required.

4. Include Fixings and Trims

Hidden clips, starter clips, screws, fascia and edging should be included in the material list.

5. Allow for Cuts and Wastage

The amount depends on the deck shape, board length and layout.

6. Check Delivery Access

Long decking boards require suitable access and unloading arrangements.

7. Confirm Stock Before Installation

Where possible, have the full material requirement available before dismantling an existing deck or starting the new structure.

Can You Visit Vigo Home Before Buying?

Yes. One of the main advantages of living in Northamptonshire is being able to visit the Desborough warehouse rather than choosing purely from photographs online.

You can compare board finishes, colours and profiles and speak to the team about the materials required for your project.
